Changes to monthly meeting timing, Sept, 2010

Members and other less fortunate aviators!

Our monthly meeting for September, which was to have been held on 19th Sept, has been brought forward to the second Sunday in Sept, ie, 11am on 12th Sept. This is because our esteemed President, Brian Melbourne, will be representing SE Qld at the RAAus AGM, held on 17th - 19th Sept in Canberra. Brian is standing in for RAAus committee member John McKeown who is presently busy sailing around the Greek isles. (Someone has to do it. Let's observe a moment of sad reflection while we think of John is his unfortunate predicament).

Having our monthly meeting on the 12th, therefore, gives club members and any other concerned RAAus members, the opportunity to discuss issues which they wish to be placed before the RAAus AGM.

All concerned fliers are therefore invited to attend our meeting on 12th Sept at 11am to discuss any issues of concern with Brian prior to the RAAus AGM.

And by the way, final planning for that not-to-be-missed Annual Drifter Flyin hosted by the Flying Tigers on 19th Sept will be discussed at the meeting on 12th.

As if that wasn't enough great news, for a truly marvellous treat, you can also buy for a modest sum, one of the legendary Tigers' monthly meeting burgers afterward.

24th Dec, 2007

Nothing much to report, really. Some of the club's members are threatening to take a few weeks to do a round-the-outback tour about the middle of 2008. Fellow members, if you can fly all day at 70kts without going to sleep, you may enjoy coming along on the trip!

They figure on going to such places as: The Dig Tree, Innamincka, Birdsville, etc. Should be fun!

Website just about ready for the big unveiling... see what Fearless Leader (aka Brian) says.

Sometime in Dec, 2007

Newsletter Editor Sandra Johnson and Webmaster Colin Johnson are off in Britain for a few months. Oddly, the webpage still managed to get built somehow. Ain't the Internet wonderful?
